Fruit Bats

Fruit Bat Poster
Fruit Bats

What are bats? Some people think that bats are birds. Think again. Bats are not birds, they are mammals. Mammals are animals that have fur and feed their babies with milk. Birds are a different story. Birds have feathers and hunt food for their babies.

There are many different kinds of bats, but we are talking about fruit bats. Fruit bats eat avocados, bananas, dates, figs, guavas, bread fruit, peaches, mangoes, carobe, cloves, cashews, balas, and tequila. Fruit bats can live in Egypt, Gambia, and other warm places.

Baby fruit bats are about as big as baby mice.  The smallest fruit bats' wing span is about as long as a young mouse. The largest fruit bats' wing span is about as big as a 5.6 foot mommy. Most fruit bats have large eyes, allowing them to orient themselves visually in twilight and inside caves and forests.  Their sense of smell is excellent.

In contrast to the micro bats, the fruit bats don't use eco-location, with one exception, the Egyptian fruit bat Rousettus egyptiacus which uses high pitched clicks  to navigate  in caves.

Say bye to the fruit bats. Bye bye fruit bats.

The Best Rainforest Ever!!!

The best rainforest ever!!!
Rainforests are usually found around the equator.  They lie between the tropics of Capricorn and Cancer.  In them the sun is hottest and is highest and the climate varies little throwout the year.  These rainforests are known as tropical rainforests, but there is another kind of rainforests in the cooler parts of the world.  It is called a temperate rainforest and it is cept damp not only by the rain but also by ocean and mountain fogs.  My favorite animal in the rainforest is a big snake that can eat my dad.  The end.

What's poop? Poster

Poop facts
Poop is very important in many ways.  Sometimes poop is important because it takes away body waste.  Another way poop is can be important is it helps animals communicate.  Animals communicate with poop by its smell and smelling it.  Bat poop has seeds in it so they can poop anywhere and plants can grow.  Poop has it's very own life cycle sort of thing.  First your body uses the nutrients and vitamins.  What's left over becomes poop.
